Eid Mubarak
Okay, so maybe I'm a little late, but Eid Mubarak to all. Alhamdullilah, our family had a wonderful Eid celebration, filled with good food, great company, and surprisingly good weather.
Zayd decided that he wanted to dress like his Uncle Ismael (yes, Zayd has a say in his clothing selection) so we went with grey slacks, a sweater vest, and a crisp white shirt. I know I'm his mother, which makes me inherently biased, but I had to say that the kid looked fresh to death.
A mixture of nostalgia and not being able to find anything I really loved, led me to put on the outfit I wore a little over three years ago for our nikkah. It is still, by far, one of my favorite outfits, so i was happy. Pappa Khalid wore a nice grey suit.
Zayd received a plethora of gifts in the mail from his grandparents, and Mommy & Daddy got a lot of good stuff too- if I must say so myself. Most importantly, it was good celebrating yet another wonderful Ramadan. Our family is truly blessed to be in the presence of so many dynamic and loving couples. As much as we both get homesick sometimes, we have to admit that DC has been a good home for us.
