One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

It all started with a loud thud. That's never really a good way to begin a story centered around a six month old. Anyway, it all started with Khalid hearing a loud thud. I was dead to the world after taking a relaxing bath. Zayd was spending his second night in his own room, in his own crib (joy). Khaid said that he heard a loud noise and immediately ran upstairs to check on Zayd. Somehow, we're still really not sure of the details, our child managed to flip his whole body out of the crib. Khalid said when he entered he nursery, Zayd was on the floor crying. Did I mention that I was on the same floor and managed to sleep through all of this??? The first thing I heard was Kalid saying, "Ohh no!". ... that's never really a good way to wake up.

So yes, Zayd believes he can fly. Aside from some scared crying, the child seemed to be fine. We kept him up for a while, checked his head, checked his body, looked at his pupils, and gave him a whole lot of hugs. Khalid immediately moved his mattress down to the lowest setting possible. His once adorable crib now looks like a wooden prison.

We had no clue that Zayd was capable of getting out of his crib. There are a thousand things that we knew that we need to move, but moving the crib mattress wasn't even high priority -- it hadn't even crossed my mind yet!! We're still a little baffled and confused on how he did it. We've both attempted to "reenact" the scene to better understand what happened. We really have no clue. All we know is that we truly have a little daredevil on our hands.

I am so happy he is okay! This is my worst nightmare. Isaiah is finally moving into his own room tomorrow night, now you have me thinking twice!
